Feeling lost in your career? Try this.
Summer is a time to reflect, recalibrate and take action. Here's how.
There may be a salty tear or two falling on the virtual pages of Lead with Intention this week. It’s my daughter’s last week at primary school (elementary) and she’ll be off to high school in September.
Where or where have the last six years gone? They seem to have disappeared in a flash, and somewhere inbetween learning to read, navigating new friendships, and growing several inches, she is now ready for the next phase of her learning and her life.
Maybe that resonates for you too?
Summer is traditionally a time where we are able to carve out a bit more space to reflect (it’s actually one of my busiest times as a leadership coach for exactly this reason), ahead of the intense pace of September and the final quarter of the year.
So if you’re feeling a little lost in your career AND you’re feeling the pull to reflect and maybe reset what you’re doing professionally, today I’m giving you the tools to do just that.
It’s for paid subscribers, as it’s exactly the type of advice (and tools) I share with my one to one and group coaching clients and my hope is it offers you real value as you consider what’s next for you in your career.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll also be sharing some coaching advice if you’re job searching in this season of your career, as I know many of you are. Then we’ll be getting back to exploring the leadership behaviours that make the difference between being a “helpful member of the team” and a “leader that gets it.”
And you want to be the latter if you don’t want to get overlooked or be under-estimated in your career.
You’re feeling lost - you need to rediscover your professional purpose
But it’s hard to be the leader you know you can be, when you’re feeling lost or directionless in your career. When you show up every day, clock in, hit your marks, but you end that day feeling as if you could have been working for anyone, doing anything. It no longer matters to you.
You’re missing that essential ingredient of a fulfilling career…And I have just the framework and career coaching prompts to help you find it again…
